Blueberry Orange Smoothie

I’ll have a blue Christmas…

Because of this smoothie!

Well, honestly this smoothie is more purple than blue, but as it’s made with a whole cup of blueberries and blueberry yogurt, I think “blue” is still a pretty appropriate adjective!

You can’t get a fresher flavor combination than blueberry and orange. The sweet flavor of the blueberries paired with the acidity of the orange zest in an ice-cold smoothie creates a drink more refreshing than anything you could imagine. (Or pick up at a smoothie place, for that matter!)

Not to mention, if you’re a fan of blueberries (or these delicious Blueberry Orange Muffins) then this will seriously become your favorite smoothie the minute you taste it. It doesn’t get much better.

While on one hand yes, I agree smoothies can easily be considered more of a summer treat. However, when it really comes down to it, nothing refreshes and detoxifies you better than a nice tall smoothie –– especially following the food-laden months of November and December!

So sure, you may hope for a white Christmas, or even a Christmas at the beach.

But for me, I prefer a blue Christmas of delicious blueberry smoothies!

Blueberry Orange Smoothie

  • 3 tbs blueberry yogurt (I used Silk Dairy Free)
  • 1/4 orange (or 1 1/2 clementine)
  • 1/2 tsp orange zest
  • 1 c blueberries
  • 1/4 c unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 c ice

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Top with additional blueberries. Enjoy!
