Protein shakes are the bomb.
Seriously, who wants to make something super extravagant or time consuming right after a kick butt workout? Uh, not me, that’s for sure! I’d much rather prefer to scurry on home, throw a few ingredients just an arm’s-reach away into a blender, and blend blend blend until the magic happens.
Because that’s what you get with this protein shake.
Have you ever had a chocolate chip cookie milkshake? Well this protein shake is basically that, but about 10000000x healthier, and with like 8x the protein. It’s made with a few key ingredients: frozen banana (ever made banana ice cream? This has the same creamy, decadent consistency), Greek Yogurt (protein!!), cocoa powder (it is a chocolate chip cookie dough protein shake), and protein powder (again, more protein. Plus a yummy flavor, and extremely customizable depending on the protein you choose to use).
And the great thing is, you can simply make this in advance then pop it in the fridge. Just pull it out when you get home, and it should be just as creamy, decadent, and oh-so-delicious.
Seriously, what could be better?
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Shake
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1/2 0% fat Greek Yogurt
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1 scoop (41g) protein powder of choice (I used Body Fortress Vanilla Whey Protein)
- 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 c unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbs old fashioned oats
- cacao nibs (optional)
Add all ingredients to a blender (including cacao nibs, if desired) and blend on high for 30 seconds, or until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Great shake. Perfect for after a workout or even meal replacement with another scoop of protein powder. I drink similar shakes after my long runs instead of cramming carbs in my face like I usual do. Cheers!
My thoughts exactly! I try to do the same after working out- the more protein the better! 😉 Thanks for stopping by!
