Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Heard of liquid gold?

Well, this smoothie is liquid Pumpkin Pie.

This autumn, I’ve most definitely been obsessed with pumpkin. And with Thanksgiving coming up this month, I figured it was about time for me to sit down and create a recipe for a pumpkin pie smoothie. With all the flavor, but none of the calories.

I can typically trust myself around desserts. Maybe it’s that guilty feeling I experience if I go back for a second serving of Pumpkin Pie, but when it comes to overeating (dessert-wise) on Thanksgiving, I don’t tend to go overboard. However, every year it’s the leftovers that get me.

Whether it’s Pumpkin, Pecan, Chocolate, or Apple, leave a pie sitting around my house and it’ll be gone by mid-afternoon. I’ll make sure of that.

In order to resist the temptations of the pumpkin pie we always seem to have leftover, today I created the most decadent pumpkin pie smoothie ever. Made with all the classic flavors of pumpkin, but none of the guilt, this smoothie will sate even your strongest post-Thanksgiving pie-cravings, without all the extra unneeded calories. Plus, you can enjoy it for breakfast, and still start your day with a healthy meal. (Contrary to what you’ll be doing starting your day with a huge hunk of pie!)

Come thanksgiving, you can be sure I’ll be giving plain ole pumpkin pie a run for its money with this decadent, yet healthy, treat! 🙂

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 c pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/2 c unsweetened almond milk

Slice banana and freeze in a Tupperware overnight, or for at least 3 hours. Once frozen, add to a blender with all remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately!
