Cinnamon-Coconut Sugar French Toast Sticks

This is by far the best French Toast I have ever had.

Seriously, I would rival, and beat any fast food, diner, or homemade French Toast sticks you’ve had before.

And it’s healthy to boot!

The key is the coconut sugar.

By coating one side with the cinnamon-sugar mixture, you’re final result is a French Toast Stick that’s half-caramelized and slightly crunchy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside.

Aka. heaven.

Another trick: using Udi’s Gluten Free Bread, or another thick-sliced bread. This allows the French Toast Sticks the texture of classic French Toast, without the extra highly-processed ingredients or gluten.

Additionally, these French Toast Sticks are perfect for any party, whether of children or adults! Why? Because a) they’re perfect finger-food, and b) they’re just plain adorable. And who doesn’t love yummy and cute breakfast foods?

Simple to make, unbelievably healthy, and just plain delicious; like I said: these French Toast Sticks can’t be beat! 😀

Cinnamon-Coconut Sugar French Toast Sticks

  • 2-3 slices of bread of choice (Udi’s Gluten Free Whole Grain Bread)
  • 1/4 c egg whites
  • 1/4 c milk of choice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbs coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

In a medium-sized bowl, combine egg whites, milk of choice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Slice bread into four slices, then dip in egg mixture and let soak for 20 seconds. Combine coconut sugar and cinnamon and dip one side of each french toast stick in it. Preheat a griddle to 350° and grease with cooking spray. Place french toast sticks on the griddle with tongs, cinnamon-sugar side up. Let cook for about 2 minutes on medium, then flip with the tongs or a spatula and heat for another minute or two. Remove, top with berries, syrup, and more cinnamon and enjoy!
