Holy creaminess.
This ice cream is my new favorite thing.
Ever.
And trust me, once you taste it for yourself you’ll never waste your time on unhealthy, high-cal ice cream again. Because this ice cream is more of an ice dream (see what I did there? ;)) it’s so creamy, rich, and delicious.
The secret to this ice cream is the crunchy peanut butter. All you do is throw all the ingredients (except the PB) into your blender and blend until smooth. Then scoop into a large bowl and stir in the peanut butter. But do not over-stir. This is essential to the decadence of the recipe. You just want to swirl the peanut butter in, so that with each bite you get both the yummy cinnamon-banana ice cream, as well as a swirl of crunchy peanut butter.
I typically don’t eat salted peanut butter, simply because I prefer the taste of regular, unsalted peanut butter. But the salted peanut butter definitely kicks the flavor of this ice cream up a few notches. It balances out the sweetness of the banana, so it doesn’t taste as sickly-sweet or overpowering as ice cream tends to taste.
Not to mention, the addition of crunchy peanut butter makes this ice cream that much more decadent- almost like a Rocky Road ice cream. But healthier. And even more decadent.
Overall, this ice cream is a winner. A creamy, delicious, peanut buttery winner.
Peanut Butter Banana Dream Ice Cream

- 1/3 (42 g scoop) vanilla protein powder (I used Eas Soy Protein Powder)

- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbs salted crunchy peanut butter
Combine first four ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Scoop into a bowl and stir in peanut butter. Enjoy!

This sounds amazing! Do you use frozen banana to get the ‘ice cream’ consistency?
Thank you! I do, it makes the recipe incredibly creamy and decadent! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
This sounds great. I love the idea of using frozen bananas in lieu of ice cream. However, I’m not a big peanut butter fan. Would you recommend possibly using nutella instead? Or would that pack on extra calories that I don’t need.
You could use Nutella, but be warned: it’s not as healthy as you may think! While PB has about 7g protein & 16g healthy fat per 2 tbs, nutella has only 3g protein and 11g of fat for the same serving, not to mention added sugar. Thanks for stopping by!
